(Heather, this post is for you!)
This is a photo of the only quilt that I've ever made....it was a Christmas present for my parents last year. We have a loose tradition of homemade gifts for family members and close friends...luckily, we're a pretty creative bunch...
I had scanned many old family photos and wanted to use them to make my version of a crazy quilt. It is fairly non-traditional in the sense that I actually made separate blocks and then stitched them all together...it's also not really quilted, just sewn between the edge and the border to keep the front, back, and stuffing together.
I embroidered on some of the photos, (which I had printed on fabric in my printer) and used some new and vintage trims. I'm happy with the result....this was one of those projects where I could see it fully realized in my mind and just used lots of problem-solving and starting over to get it right.
